NATIONAL FOOD DRIVE DAY
The project, coordinated by the Fondazione Banco Alimentare Onlus, employs volunteers at large-scale retail outlets who persuade thousands of consumers to give a portion of their purchases to help those in need.
The goal is to increase awareness about poverty and promote virtues like sharing, charity, and solidarity. The funds raised enable us to provide tangible assistance to people in need, in accordance with the idea "Sharing needs to share the meaning of life".
For years, our organization has supported this effort, contributing to its success as a valuable chance for social solidarity in Pompeii.
GIUSEPPE FERRARO FOUNDATION ONLUS
The collaboration with the foundation, which accepts children and young people in temporary foster care, is yet another significant social inclusion initiative undertaken by our association in the Pompeii region. Since the beginning of 2024, we have made our expertise available to help the most vulnerable populations, particularly minors. Our contribution to the family home is implemented through a number of efforts focused on entertainment, including cultural projects, environmental education activities, and support interventions, all with the goal of providing children with opportunities for growth and well-being.
LET'S OVERCOME BARRIERS
In the months of April and May 2024, our association organized a series of meetings as part of the integrated horse riding project Let's Overcome Barriers, promoted by the Amedeo Maiuri Comprehensive Institute in collaboration with the Municipality of Pompeii, at the Pompei Horse Club equestrian center. The project, aimed at children and young people with disabilities (physical and mental), was carried out with the help of the horse and was aimed at acquiring skills and competencies that can then be generalized and used outside the equestrian context.
PLASTIC FREE
For the past several years, Civitatis 2024 has been working with the National Association Plastic Free Onlus ODV on awareness-raising initiatives and material collecting in the environment.
Thanks to this collaboration, the local community has been involved in cleanup events around our region.
Furthermore, we conducted an effort to educate people on the need to minimize plastic usage and maintain our ecology, resulting in cleaner areas and more conscious individuals.
SOCIAL CANTEEN
The Association provides ongoing assistance to the Social Kitchen of Pompeii, participating in both the distribution of meals and the delivery of food parcels to the neediest families. This activity falls fully within our association policy, based on the principles of solidarity and social inclusion.
The commitment is not limited to responding to immediate needs but also aims to promote a culture of closeness and mutual support, with the aim of creating a more cohesive community that is attentive to the needs of the most vulnerable people.
COVID-19 EMERGENCY
During the COVID-19 incident, our group worked with the Municipality of Pompeii to distribute personal protection equipment and food supplies to persons experiencing socio-economic difficulty.
FLASH MOB FOR THE SARNO
Our organization, in collaboration with other local organizations, organized a flash mob to raise awareness of the Sarno River's severe pollution. This event, marked by a period of collective quiet, aims to raise awareness among individuals and institutions about the need for immediate and collaborative action.
URBAN REGENERATION
In 2019, an urban redevelopment effort was initiated for the Parco della Mamma e del Bambino, a previously closed and deteriorating green space in the city.
The project's principal goal was to reconstruct a public space in a way that actively included individuals in both the recovery phase and the area's development.
Local schools were also involved in the renovation, and they made a substantial contribution by launching a bookcrossing campaign with the goal of redeveloping the physical space and turning it into a gathering place and cultural hub.
